We come from all walks of life, gathered by spirit with a shared purpose – the fulfillment of personal destiny. The New York businessman, the Colorado homemaker, the chef from Arizona, and a computer programmer from Argentina, all have one thing in common -- a commitment to fully awaken to the presence of the divine within and to build mastery so that spirit might be expressed fully and fearlessly into the world. Today, those who live on this land and steward a balanced relationship with it, hold their responsibility sacred.

Mission and Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Glen Ivy was established to serve the purpose of the International Emissary program as initiated by its founder, Lloyd Meeker: to assist in carrying forward a work of spiritual regeneration of humanity, under the inspiration of the spirit of God.

EXEMPLIFICATION OF PURPOSE

The Glen Ivy community thrives as a working example of the practical application of spiritual principles in everyday living. People work and learn together in an atmosphere of respect and open communication. Personal development is key for the collective to flourish. Glen Ivy is a gracious, love-filled home for its residents and the many who visit. Of great importance is Glen Ivy’s commitment to respect the land and to work gracefully with the rhythms of nature.

Glen Ivy welcomes visitors from around the world to participate in community activities, attend spiritual education programs and participate in Emissary meetings. Glen Ivy activities include creative homemaking, administration of community affairs, stewarding organic orchards and gardens, and constructing and maintaining our buildings and grounds. The spirit of worship and Attunement are priorities underlying all our activities. We support artistic expression and value endeavors which nourish spiritual growth. Many people worldwide resonate with our spiritual purpose and, as a result, the spirit of Glen Ivy extends well beyond the borders of the community property.

History

Two hundred years ago, the Luiseño Indians, descendents of the Hopi, made their home nestled in this beautiful arroyo beside the clear running waters of the canyon’s creek. Legend tells us that leaders of many tribes gathered at this sacred site without weapons. Their peaceful way of being together and experiencing oneness with the earth and stars, continued for generations.

In 1977, the Emissaries of Divine Light perceived the unique healing environment of this special place and established a regional center at Glen Ivy. Continuing this legacy, the Glen Ivy Center is an ideal sanctuary to engage in various activities that foster spiritual awakening and renewal.
